Enzo Maresca provided a concerning update on Noni Madueke's injury after the winger was forced to leave the pitch against Brighton.

The winger went down on the ground in discomfort and had to be substituted in the 21st minute of the match against Brighton as Maresca brought in Manchester United loanee Jadon Sancho. Right-back Malo Gusto was also replaced in the 65th minute as club captain Reece James took his place.

After the game, the Blues provided an update on Gusto and Madueke. The manager confirmed that Madueke has a hamstring issue that will keep him out of action for some time. The full-back, on the other hand, did not suffer any injury. Yankuba Minteh's brace and Kaoru Mitoma's strike helped the Seagulls beat Chelsea for the second time in a row in a week's time on Friday.

Speaking at his post-match press conference, the 45-year-old Italian coach said: "Malo is okay. Noni unfortunately has a hamstring problem so unfortunately will be out for a little while."
